Fit Diving Equipment:
It is essential to fit diving equipment properly so that it fits comfortably and provides maximum safety while diving.
When trying on diving equipment, it is important to pay attention to the correct fit of the BCD, wetsuit, shoes and fins.
In addition, it is also important that the mask with snorkel fits properly on the face and that the tank and weights are properly adjusted.
By fitting the diving equipment properly, you can enjoy your diving experience with confidence.
Assembling your own Diving Set:
It is very important to become familiar with your diving equipment.
During the introductory dive, your instructor will give you a detailed explanation of how to use the diving equipment.
Under the guidance of your instructor, you will assemble your own diving set with the associated checks, so that you know exactly how the diving equipment works and what it does.
Diving Signs and exercises:
Your instructor will also teach you the most important diving signs so that you can communicate well during the dive.
During the Open water diving course, you will perform a number of basic exercises to familiarize yourself with the underwater environment and learn basic diving skills.
The Open Water Course includes several internships in which you will learn the basic skills needed to become a successful diver.
You will notice that you feel more and more comfortable in your diving equipment as you go underwater.
Then, if there is still air left, we will take a nice dive.
Time To Go Diving:
Our dives start quietly in the shallow end, so that you can get used to breathing underwater and have time to go through a number of exercises with your instructor.
Then we can start the dive quietly, the maximum depth during the first & second dive is 12 meters.
On the second dive day the maximum depth for dives three & four will be 18 meters.
The dive time will be approximately between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the air consumption during the dive.
Dive in small groups for safety and personal attention:
We like to keep our groups small so that everyone gets the personal attention they need.
At Duikcentrum van de Ven we believe in offering a safe and enjoyable diving experience for everyone.
Discover the breathtakingly beautiful underwater world of Curaçao.
You will be amazed by the different types of fish and corals you encounter, such as parrot fish, moray eels, hedgehog fish and who knows, even a turtle.
Done Diving, What Now?:
After the dive, when you return to the diving school, you can share your experiences over a cup of coffee or tea, discuss the beautiful fish you have seen underwater and ask any questions.
Log your dives:
Dive logging is an essential and fun activity during the Open Water diving course.
Tracking your dives in the MYSSI APP not only helps you relive your underwater adventures, but allows you to record all the important details such as location, dive time, depth and the marine flora and fauna you have seen.
Written Theory Exam:
During the second day of diving, you will receive a written theory exam on the Open Water theory of 50 multiple choice questions between the breaks.
If the theory exam has been successfully completed together with the 4 open water dives, we can congratulate you on the Open Water Diving Certificate!
